Development of Optimization Technology for Controlling Large-Scale Traffic Signal Networks Using Quantum Computers (Published in Scientific Reports)

The University of Tokyo and Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. have developed a new method for coordinating traffic signal networks in large cities. This method uses a quantum annealing machine, which is a type of quantum computer designed to solve combinatorial optimization problems.
