A self-assembly process for preparing three-dimensional periodically ordered inorganic nanocomposites was developed. Skillfully controlled nanocomposite structures can be spontaneously produced by using a simple and sustainable process of mixing and pyrolysis with minimal energy consumption. Inorganic nanocomposite structures offer great promise due to their unique electronic, ionic, magnetic, and photonic properties. This production technique provides a platform from which novel nanostructured materials for a broad range of applications can be produced.
