CORE TECHNOLOGY AREA
We have developed a DLC-Si (silicon-containing Diamond-Like Carbon) coating process using Direct Current Plasma-assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition. This method offers low cost, high reliability and uniform mass production. By adding silicon to DLC using a plasma process, the resulting coatings exhibit low friction, a high deposition rate, and a high adhesion strength. As a result, this technology can be used not only for automobile parts, but also for applications such as dies, jigs and tools.
In 2009, we received The Invention Prize of The National Commendation for Invention for our work on a DLC-Si coated clutch for ITCC (Intelligent Torque Controlled Coupling), which was jointly developed with JTEKT corporation.
