Review article on “Technical Challenges in the application of state-of-the art Pt-based catalysts to Fuel Cell Vehicles” by Kensaku Kodama et al., was published in Nature Nanotechnology.
This review summarizes the development history and recent analytical studies of Pt-based nanocatalysts to identify the causes of technical problems in improving energy conversion efficiency and reducing the usage of platinum by applying state-of-the-art nanocatalysts in polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC) for vehicles, and discusses promising strategies for overcoming these problems.
