For example, in today’s cities, there is no need to drive a car in daily life. However, in the suburbs, having a car is essential. Where we live and our role in society make us value different things, even the way we move around.
The Social Systems Research Domain studies the traffic systems of the future and the types of social structures that will make our lives happier. Through all forms of big data analysis, we are building connections between people and breaking down social walls to identify ways of creating a better society.

Detecting Kizashi, or Indications, of Future Innovative Technologies on the Basis of Technical Literature Analysis

We have developed a new method for detecting kizashi of future innovative technologies by identifying papers that receive numerous citations. This method uses features that the interests of researchers change rapidly from the topics of old basic theses to those of new innovative papers. With this method, we can predict when new innovative technologies are likely to result in major future breakthroughs. We intend to utilize this method to contribute to the management of technologies.

Analytical Technology for Urban Travel Behavior

Using various examples of in-depth macro data, we have proposed a statistical method to identify how people travel within urban areas. In the future, this method should be applicable to various forms of data analysis, including mobility service planning.
