Research on “Positive Feedback Mechanism to Increase the Charging Voltage of Li-O2 Batteries” by Yoko Hase et.al.,
was published in Journal of the American Chemical Society.
The large overpotential during charging of non-aqueous Li-O2 batteries causes low round-trip efficiency and decomposition of the electrode materials and electrolyte. However, the origins of this overpotential have not been fully elucidated. In this paper, we have clarified the reaction mechanism leading the overpotential by combining structural and electrochemical analyses. Our results would contribute to the development of Li-O2 batteries.
