An Algorithm to Generate a Disassembly Model of a Complex Product
A study conducted by Shiki Iwase was published in the International Journal of Production Research.
Manufacturers are increasingly focusing on the environmental performance of their products to promote sustainability and achieve responsible consumption and production goals. Designers are encouraged to prioritize reusability and recyclability from the start of the design process.
This study proposes a method to create disassembly models for complex products using hypergraphs. These hypergraphs represent subassemblies and their relationships, allowing easy modification and model building. The effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated through two case studies, showing its potential to integrate reusability and recyclability into products, addressing global warming and carbon neutrality.
